Loop diuretic with action on the proximal and distal tubules in tablets for oral administration.
Case containing 3 blisters with 10 tablets each.
It is the most potent diuretic, which acts inhibiting sodium, chloride and potassium reabsorption also in the proximal and distal tubules, thus increasing water excretion. The diuretic effect occurs both in the presence of acidosis and alkalosis.
Edema (pulmonary congestion; ascites) associated with heart failure and acute non-inflammatory tissue edema.
Treatment of some electrolyte imbalances, such as calcium and potassium content.
Treatment of hypertension: it reduces vascular fluid volume and it also acts as vasodilator.
Each tablet contains:
Furosemide 40 mg
Excipients q.s.
Dogs: 2 to 4 mg/kg every 8 to 12 hours (equivalent to 1 tablet every 20 or 10 kg respectively). The dose should be adjusted based on the individual response.
Hypersensitivity to furosemide. Dehydrated or anuric patients. Electrolyte imbalance. Liver disease .
It may induce electrolyte balance disorders.
Use with prudence in advanced pregnancy. Even though it is excreted in milk, its effects on breastfeeding puppies is unknown.
Ensure a balanced diet and plenty of water to reduce the risk of electrolyte abnormalities and potassium depletion.
