Broad-spectrum antibiotic, bacteriostatic agent associated with liposoluble vitamins. Its mechanism of action is based on the suppression of protein synthesis, binding the 30s ribosomal subunits. Its spectrum of activity is very wide: gram-positive (Actinomyces spp., Bacillus anthracis, Clostridium spp., Corynebacterium spp., Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Listeria spp., Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp.) and gram-negative bacteria (Actinobacillus spp., Bordetella spp., Brucella spp., Campylobacter spp., Escherichia coli, Haemophilus spp., Klebsiella spp., Leptospira spp., Pasteurella spp., Salmonella spp.).
