Heart failure in dogs due to valve insufficiency or dilated cardiomyopathy .
Each tablet contains:
Benazepril base (as hydrochloride) 2.5 mg/5 mg/10 mg depending on dosage form.
Spironolactone 10 mg /20 mg/40 mg depending on dosage form Excipients q.s.
1 tablet every 5 kg, 10 kg or 20 kg of body weight depending on the dosage form every 24 h .
Serious renal failure and systemic arterial hypotension. It should not be used in association with potassium sparing diuretics due to the risk of causing hyperkalemia. Pregnant and lactating bitches.
Anorexia, vomiting, drowsiness, lethargy, lack of coordination, hypotension, azotemia. Reversible prostatic atrophy is frequently seen in non-neutered males.
Spironolactone has an antiandrogenic effect, so its administration is not recommended in growing dogs.
Monitor renal function before and during treatment.
